The Man of Steel broke the million dollar mark last week only to be zapped this week by The Bat. Detective Comics No. 27, which featured the first appearance of Batman, sold at auction for the new world record price of $1,075,500 at Heritage Galleries. The vintage printed comic book that sold originally for 10 cents in 1939 was given an eight out of ten for condition.
